This describes Crestwood angler Donnie Gaines at Guist Creek Lake in Shelby County. He was hoping for a largemouth bass, what he got was a new Kentucky state record white catfish. Fortunately, host Tim Farmer recognized the species and its prize potential and didn’t allow Gaines to return fish to the water. This weekend, we outline the steps to certify your catch if you think the fish you land could land you in the record books.

me and mi dad next week are trying guist creek and i found out u can rent boats and everything gosh i cant wait whats the best bait to use? i saw u were using green pumpkin tubes ive got the zoom ones do those work good?

Good job guys. I think they should make a electronic reel for disabled people with fast and slow functions. It dosent seem to slow him down much thought.

I love fishing, get up early as the sun starts to show itself, birds chirping and knowing it’s going to be a great day no matter what even if you don’t catch any or you do catch some. Fishing is in my soul.
