Electronic Fish Finders
Electronic fish finders offer a great deal to a fisherman. They help to consistently catch fish when the water temperatures are very cold or warm, or in tough conditions. With electronic fish finders, one can find the depth of the water they are fishing in as well being able to visualize the fish.
Fish finders work by using sonar. Short bursts of electrical energy are sent to the transducer, which acts like a loudspeaker. This then converts the bursts of energy into high frequency sound energy, which then picks up the sounds of the echoes at the bottom of the water and other objects such as fish which lie between the transducer and the bottom of the water. The echoes return back to the transducer and then are converted into electrical energy. The electrical energy is sent to an amplifier which increases the strength so that it can be used to light up a Light Emitting Diode, a neon light bulb. The location of the flashing light emitting diode can then be used to calculate the distance between the transducer and the fish or the bottom of the water. Once one signal is received back as an echo, another signal is sent out. The sounds in the water travel very fast and it will not take very long before a signal can get back before another one is sent out. The frequency is inaudible to both humans and the fish.
Fish finders can be either mounted onto the boat itself or can be portable. One that is mounted on the boat must be installed in a location that is easy to access and be visible while in use. There are main two components. The control head usually mounts on a quick disconnect mounting system. This system should tilt and swivel so it can be viewed from anywhere on the boat. To mount the transducer, determine first where to mount it at. A transducer can be mounted on a fiberglass hull, on the transom of the boat (the most commonly used), or attached with a portable mount.
Electronic fish finders offer the fisherman many great ways to fish. Using the devices will effectively help one catch more fish. Essentially, fish finders bring the fisherman to the fish!
Fishing Boats – Fishing From a Boat Is Good
If you are looking for an enjoyable way to spend your day, there are several things you can do. For one, you could go to the beach and go swimming; you could also go to the woods and hike around. Also, you could to a mountain and go rock climbing. Perhaps none of these suit your wants. You may want to be outside, but not lying around on the beach. You also may want to be doing something active, but not necessarily rock climbing. What is left then? There is fishing from a boat. You will be outdoors, and performing an activity, but not a very strenuous one. Also, there is always the chance of a fish fry if you are successful.
Before you go out fishing, you will first have to consider what kind of a boat you are going to use. There are quite a few kinds available to you for you to use. You have canoes, for one. These are used often by folks who are going to be out fishing by themselves. Now, this does not mean that you have to be a lone fisherman to use one, since they normally fit at least two people, and sometimes more. The main reason single fishermen use one is because they are an easy boat to launch yourself and allow you to fish in places that a large motor boat may not be able to reach. They are also cheaper and easier to transport and maintain.
The other method is the motor boat. These are much more expensive to buy, require a little more upkeep, and may be more work to transport. However, they do have their advantages. Some of these advantages include being more stable, allowing you to go out further on the lake. The motor also makes it much easier and faster to get to where you are going to fish and to get back to shore in case a storm comes in. They are also more spacious and fit more people comfortably.
